03Before you commit
The four things people actually email to ask.
- What counts as an event?
- One track() call. identify() calls, page views inside the Pulse app, and anything you send with a duplicate idempotency key inside 24 hours are not billed.
- What happens if I go over?
- Nothing switches off and no data is dropped. You get an email the day you cross the line and an invoice line the following month at $4 per additional 100,000 events. If it happens twice, we suggest the next plan up, because it is cheaper.
- Can I move a workspace between plans?
- Yes, in either direction, and history comes with it. Downgrading past your retention window archives the older data for 30 days before it is deleted, so a mistake is recoverable.
- Do you delete data on request?
- Yes — per user, per workspace, or the whole account. Deletions propagate to exports and to the warehouse sync on the next run, and the request itself is written to the audit log on the Company plan.
