Most textile brands describe a feeling. We publish a spec sheet, because the spec sheet is the only part of this that is checkable. Every lot gets a ledger entry, and the entry stays up after the lot sells out.

Fibre
Wool from two flocks, linen from one flax merchant, cotton only where it is doing a job wool cannot. We name the mill on every ledger entry and we do not blend in anything we have not listed.

Warp
The beam is dressed once per lot. Dressing a loom takes about a day and a half, which is the real reason the lots are small and the real reason we do not repeat them.

Weave
Shaft looms, two of them, running at roughly two metres a day each. Nothing here is woven at speed and nothing is woven twice.

Washed, dried flat, measured and weighed. The gsm on the product page is the number off our own scales after finishing, not the number the mill quoted before it.

Three questions account for nearly everything a shop this size gets asked: where an order is, which size to take, and whether a fibre will survive the room it is going into. - Everything ships from the mill within two working days of a lot opening. Lots are picked in order of purchase, not in order of size.

- Tracked and signed for. Blankets go in a single box; anything under 500 gsm ships flat in a paper mailer.

- Flat rate on everything, free over two hundred dollars. We do not discount postage to make a price look smaller.

- Unwashed and unused, in any condition a shop can resell. Send it back and we refund the item; postage back to us is on you unless the fault is ours.

- A slub, a doubled end or a shade shift across a lot is not a fault — it is handwoven cloth. A hole, a dropped pick or a seam giving way is, and we replace it from the seconds shelf or refund it.

- Pieces that miss our own measure go on the seconds shelf at half price with the reason written on the label. There are nine of them from this lot.
